Workshop: Kim Nazarian, jazz voice: "Making a Song Your Own"

"Making a Song Your Own"

This class will explore the personal connection to the lyric, embellishing the melody, adding reharmonization, experimenting with various grooves, and implementing different arranging ideas. The point is to be influenced by history, while making a musical statement in the present. We won't be "covering" tunes, we will be reinventing them to tailor fit your own musical visions. The music must resonate with you, so you can contribute a part of yourself to the song! (Be ready for a few holiday tunes used as demonstration!)
