Robert W. Kasling Memorial Lecture: Dr. Natasha Farny "Stepping off the pedestal: The Metamorphosis from Feminine Muse to Woman Composer"

Stepping off the Podium: The Metamorphosis from Muse to Female Composer

In her Kasling lecture, cellist Natasha Farny will share recent research on music by women. In addition to unpacking why they have been forgotten, she will share their fascinating stories, play their brilliant music, and offer resources for further investigation. As the School of Music insists, "Now is the Time." We have admired grassroots political action from minority groups who marched for Women's rights, the Black Lives Matter movement, and Stop Asian Hate. In the arts, we join them by expanding awareness through thoughtful and enterprising programming.
