The great Venezuelan guitarist, Luis Zea, will be on campus to give a masterclass on Tuesday, February 13 in Diers from 5-7 PM. Luis has previously been on campus as an artist-in-residence, and has served as sabbatical replacement for Jim Piorkowski twice.  

With over forty years of professional experience and worldwide recognition by colleagues, critics, and audiences alike, Luis Zea is known for his versatile talent as a performing and recording artist, arranger, composer, teacher and author. Hailed by Cuban master  Leo Brouwer as“the ideal soloist”, Zea is a direct disciple of the legendary Venezuelan composer and guitarist Antonio Lauro (1917-1986).
