Friday, October 18, 2024
- 9 AM - 5 PM Bookstore is Open. Main floor, University Commons (formerly known as Cranston Hall).
- 10 AM – 6 PM Art Gallery Exhibit — Tradition Interrupted explores the methods used by artists to conflate contemporary ideas with traditional art and craft, in a range of media, from rugs and quilts to metal and ceramic. Participating artists are: Anila Quayyum Agha, Faig Ahmed, Camille Eskell, Mounir Fatmi, Ana Gómez, Shirin Hosseinvaud, Dinh Q. Lȇ, Steven Young Lee, Jaydan Moore, Ramekon O’Arwisters, Jason Seife, and Masami Teraoka. The exhibition is organized by Bedford Gallery, Walnut Creek, CA. Location: The Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery, Rockefeller Arts Center. Free.
- 12 PM noon Golden Alumni Buffet Luncheon, Horizon Room, Lower level of Williams Center (formerly known as the Campus Center). For all graduates of 1974 and before. $25/person. Reservations recommended.

3 PM Navigating Academic and Career Development Trajectory in Genitourinary Cancer Research: My pathways to progress, innovation, and impact, featuring Dr. Remi Adelaiye-Ogala ’09. Room 105 Kelly Auditorium, Science Center. Reception to follow. Free. Dr. Adelaiye-Ogala is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.
- 4 PM – 7 PM Business Club/SIFE/Enactus Reunion for all alums from the 1970’s forward. Location Coughlin’s Pub, Main St. No cover charge - beverages on your own - light refreshments provided. - 5 PM Homecoming Reception, Williams Center. Celebrating the Classes of 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, and 1984, recognition of Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award recipients. Williams Center (formerly known as the Campus Center). $15/person. Reservations recommended.
- 7 PM Student Pep Rally. Crowning of Homecoming Royalty, Steele Hall Fieldhouse. Free.
- 7 PM -8:30 PM Public Open Skate, Steele Hall Ice Rink. Admission: Adults $5, children $4, Fredonia students free with ID. Skate Rentals: $4 for all.
- 8 PM Student BonFYRE. Sponsored in part by the First Year Student Engagement Committee. Bonfire will be located behind Steele Hall in parking lot. Free.
- 8 PM Jazz Concert, featuring the Fredonia Jazz Orchestra and the Fredonia Jazz Sextet under conductor Dr. Nick Weiser. Rosch Recital Hall, Mason Hall. Free.

1 PM Communication Department: Homecoming Open House, 201 McEwen Hall (second floor). Celebrate Homecoming Weekend with the SUNY Fredonia Communication Department as it presents its annual Commy Award. Cookies and coffee will be served and alumni, faculty, staff and students are all encouraged to attend. In addition, alumni tours of the Communication Department and its facilities will also be offered before and after the event, upon request. Hosted by former execs Mora Killeen, Marjorie Maloney, Nancy Caffo, Debbie Cohen and Dave Plafker. Bring memorabilia if you still have it!
