1917:  Celebrating the 100th Birthdays of Jazz Icons

This concert features Fredonia alumnus and Eastman School of Music Professor, Tony Caramia, piano; with Fredonia music faculty members Kieran Hanlon, bass, and Alec Dube, drums.

Several jazz icons were born in 1917—this centennial concert celebrates their music and the legacy they left us.  The program will include selections from the genius of Thelonious Monk (b. October 10); Tadd Dameron (b. February 21); Johnny Guarnieri (b. March 23); Dizzy Gillespie (b. October 21); and Buddy Rich (b. September 30).
