Gwendolyn Coleman, acclaimed soprano and Professor of Voice at the Cincinnati Conservatory, joins faculty pianist Anne Kissel for an afternoon of songs featuring women’s voices—music set to words by the great American novelist Willa Cather, the Hindu mystic poet Mirabai, and Emily Dickinson, among others. At the heart of the program is the premiere performance of Night Watch, composed by Caroline Mallonée for Kissel, Coleman, and special guest, Amelia Harper, cello to words by the pianist’s mother, Mary Kissel.
