Join SUNY Fredonia's American Democracy Project for a special Constitution Day program featuring Cory McCants, New York Emmy Award-winning host of Compact Civics and Compact History on Buffalo Toronto Public Media (BTPM).

A Buffalo-based actor, writer, and educator, McCants began his career after graduating from Niagara University in 2011. Following work in New York City, he joined BTPM as the host and co-writer of Compact History, earning a New York Emmy Award for his work. Today, he combines storytelling, history, humor, and civic education to engage audiences across the country through keynote presentations, public events, and educational programming.

Drawing on themes explored in Compact History and Compact Civics, McCants will examine the voices and perspectives often left out of traditional narratives surrounding the nation's founding and the U.S. Constitution. Through compelling storytelling and historical insight, he will explore how these overlooked stories continue to shape American democracy and what they mean for civic life today.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation, providing attendees with an opportunity to engage directly with McCants about history, civic engagement, media, and the importance of informed citizenship.

Light refreshments will be available during the presentation. Following the event, attendees are invited to stay for a complimentary lunch beginning at 12:00 p.m.
