Josh Ranney will discuss how his time at Fredonia prepared him to achieve his career goals. He'll also share his experiences working in Albany. The conversation will include a Q&A.
Josh Ranney graduated from Fredonia in 2019, with degrees in Journalism and Political Science. During his time on campus, he was involved in various organizations including Fredonia Radio Systems and The Leader. At The Leader, Ranney served as the News Editor during his junior and senior years. He was also elected as President of the Student Association in his sophomore year and continued to serve in various roles in SA throughout his college career.
After graduation, Ranney was hired as the Director of Communications for New York State Assemblymember Karen McMahon. In that role, Ranney handles all interactions with the media, prepares press releases, written statements, responds to constituent inquiries, manages social media, prepares public remarks, and works in cooperation with other staff in an advisory role. He has also served in this capacity on the Assemblymember’s two previous re-election campaigns.
